Situated in the Mercantour national park La Colmaine is a pleasant but small family resort. Snow cover can be a bit lacking due to the proximity of the Mediterranean sea and the maximum altitude of 1800 meters. In early April the slopes were closed but we were still able to ski tour in the nearby Mercantour mountains.

The slopes are between 1450 and 1800 meters. There are 20 pistes offering 30km of skiing. These are divided between 4 greens, 6 blues, 8 red and 2 blacks. The Diable (Devil) black is excellent when the snow is good. The lifts are served by 1 chair and 6 drags and there is 15 hectares of snowmaking. There is no marked cross-country skiing but there is excellent ski touring and snow shoeing in the surrounding mountains.

Turini-Camp d'Argent, one hour away from the Riviera, located on the border of the Mercantour National Park and close to La Vallée des Merveilles, is a family resort, with hotels, council self-catering cottages, cafes and restaurants, in a natural friendly environment.
The ski station offers a choice of all kinds of snow activities like, snowshoe or skiing-hiking, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, sledge. With 3 T-bar tows including 1 for beginners and 2 for experienced, this skiing resort is aimed at families and is very popular with the skiing classes from the Bévéra and Vésubie Valley.

Near the village of Saint-Martin-Vésubie, Le Boréon is one of the main centres for Nordic skiing in the Alpes d'Azur. It also offers fine trekking on skis and snowshoeing to discover the grandiose landscapes of the Mercantour Massif.

The resort of Gréolières-les-Neiges, in the back country around Grasse, is one of the resorts closest to the coast. This is a family resort above all, for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in areas dedicated to each of these activities. From the top of the Cheiron ridge, you'll want to discover the splendid panoramas over the entire French Riviera, the Mercantour Massif and the Southern Alps.

Roubion-Les-Buisses is one of the most recent resorts in the Alpes d'Azur. Its ski area covers over 40 km in a pristine natural setting, offering hikers, snow shoers and skiers the most splendid panoramas. In clear weather, from the top of Mont Pommier, you won't want to miss the magnificent view on the Mediterranean Sea all the way to Corsica.
